Abby And Joel Bender

Abby's the sweetest girl in the world, and she's one of the first people that I met at Laurel. When she asked me to take pictures for her, I was happy to. For the most part I'm pleased with the composure of the images, but the sunlight that day was really harsh. Many of the color pictures taken at the waterfront suffer from squint-itis. At the same time, some of the pictures at Krutch Park are too dark. I think that in order to do the pictures corectly I would have to have had an assistant hold up a reflector for some pictures and an external flash for others. But Abby was tickled pink, and that's all that really matters!

The scanner had problems dealing with the high contrast among these pictures. I had to adjust the color levels of each of these images by hand after I had scanned them in. If you turn up the gamma on the first picture you'll notice that it starts to become washed out very quickly.
