1. Evolution
of Genomic Imprinting Imprinted genes are genes with different pattern of expression when
inherited via egg and via sperm. Why do some genes forego the advantages of
diploidy and become functionally haploid? 2. Maintenance
of Recombination Hotspots As part of the recombination process, the sequence that favors
recombination is converted into the sequence that resists recombination. Why
doesn’t recombination disappear? 3. Evolution
of Cooperation Free-riders thrive at the expense of co-operators driving them to
extinction. How can cooperation persist? I explore punishment and reputation
as two forces that can maintain cooperation. Collaborators Andy Gardner David Haig Alan Grafen Manus Patten |
