Conference
on Mathematics and Biology - SMB 2002 - Contributed talk and poster submission information
Many opportunities are available for presentation of research results at the Conference and we encourage all participants to share their latest research. We will have a variety of Contributed Talks sessions, grouped by themes, in which each contributed talk will be a total of 15 minutes in length. For these, you should plan to talk for no more than 12 minutes, in order to allow some time for questions and for setup for the next speaker. Due to the limited time available in these contributed sessions, many people prefer to present a poster. These will allow you a more extended time to interact with interested participants, and the posters will be on display for several days.
Title and Abstract Submission
Abstracts and titles should be composed in a single file, using 12 point font, following the format:
Your name and contact information: Name (Last, First), Department, Institution, Address (Street, City State, Country), Email Address, Phone, FAX
Authors: Author1 (Last, First), Author2 (First Last), ..., AuthorN (First Last). Please denote with an * after the name of the presenting author.
Authors Institutions: Just specify the main institution, not the particular department, associated with each individual. If necessary (when authors are associated with different institutions) use superscript numerals following each author's name to specify which institution each individual is associated with, using the superscript numeral before the associated institution name.
Title: No more than 20 words, clearly specifying the main topic to be discussed.
Abstract: No more than 300 words, clearly specifying the problem addressed, the approaches taken, and summarizing results.
Preferred format: Specify Oral Presentation or Poster - we will try to accomodate all requests, and if we cannot we will inform you.
Preferred date, if any: if you know you will not be in attendance on a particular date, please let us know - we will try to accomodate these.
The above file should be submitted via email to Cheryl Lynn (cjlynn@utk.edu). These should be sent as an attachment, using "SMB Abstract Submission - your name" in the email Subject line. Appropriate format for the file is one of: Text, PDF, Word (.doc format or .rtf format) or Wordperfect. If you use Tex or troff to compose your abstract, please convert it to one of the above formats to send it to us.
